Can anyone identify this small island located off the West coast of Scotland? It's from a slide taken about 45 years ago and looks as though it was taken through the window of a ruined house or castle. Is that the Western Isles on the skyline? Any suggestions welcomed ;D

I can't tell you which island it is but that is definitely the western Isles on the horizon.
They look pretty close though, so maybe your island is off Skye?

Hi Fraser Thanks for the suggestion, it could well be Skye as we did travel there as a family in the sixties. I did find this slide in another box which has the same profile on the skyline and shows the ruin where the first picture might have been taken from ?

Well, in an amazing coincidence, this months Scottsih Field magazine has published a photograph of this exact location! www.scottishfield.co.uk/Scroll half way down the page and you can see it. It turns out to be a view from Duntulm castle in the North of Skye. Success! ;D Full marks to Fraser too. Thanks!
